Age appropriate activities will be offered with flexibility allowed to respond to the needs of the individual children and babies.
The infant’s daily experiences focus on developmental domains or on the practice of a specific skill and prepared around spontaneous activities that are likely to occur in the context of daily care and routines. Exploration, perception, communication, mobility, self-competence, trust, relationships, independence and self control, are all goals of development for infants.
A basic preschool type program is introduced throughout the day. Shapes, numbers, colors and the alphabet are introduced through various monthly themes. The program may include art projects, music, stories, sharing and finger-plays.
We play outdoors everyday (weather permitting). Activities include: climbing, swinging, sliding, jumping, running, balls, hula-hoops, jump rope, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, ride-on toys, sand/water play, painting, exploring, hiking and mini-lessons on science, weather and nature.
Of course we will always have lots of free play time indoors and out and plenty of paper, crayons, puzzles and toys available.
